Kaci Kay, BS

I’m Kaci Kay, a passionate interning counselor based in Flagstaff, AZ, currently working toward my M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with an emphasis in childhood and adolescent disorders. I hold a B.S. in Criminal Justice/Criminology and have spent several years working in the legal field, primarily within family law. This experience has given me a deep understanding of the challenges families face and has inspired my transition into the mental health field.

Although I work with various presenting concerns, I have specific expertise in working with neurodivergent populations, including individuals with ADHD, and helping clients address the often-overlooked emotions of shame and guilt. I also specialize in body-positivity, self-love, and women’s health issues. I believe in providing a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space for individuals to explore their feelings, build resilience, and work to become the truest version of themselves.

As an counselor, I am dedicated to helping my clients find healing and growth by fostering self-compassion and understanding. I’m passionate about guiding individuals through their journeys toward self-acceptance, so they can thrive and embrace their unique selves.

 My Specializations:

  • I understand and embrace the unique cognitive and emotional experiences of individuals with conditions like autism, ADHD, or dyslexia. Using a strengths-based approach, we develop coping strategies, improve social skills, and manage challenges in areas such as communication or executive functioning. I support you in navigating a world that may not always accommodate your neurodiverse needs.

  • Explore and challenge negative self-talk, societal pressures, and internalized beauty standards that contribute to body dissatisfaction. Through techniques like cognitive reframing and mindfulness, we will cultivate self-acceptance, recognizing your unique worth, and foster empowerment.

  • Identify and challenge negative beliefs and foster a healthier self-image. Through techniques such as cognitive restructuring, goal-setting, and building self-compassion, I will support you in developing a stronger sense of self-worth and confidence, recognize your strengths and value, and cultivate a more positive and resilient mindset.

  • I provide a supportive space to explore the emotional, psychological, and physical aspects of health challenges, such as reproductive health, menopause, or chronic conditions. Using mindfulness, psychoeducation, and stress management, we will navigate the emotional impacts of these issues while promoting self-care and overall well-being.
